Airman Magazine: AI
Col. Garry Floyd is the Department of the Air Force director for the DAF Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Artificial Intelligence Accelerator, in Cambridge, Mass. He was photographed at Ft. Meade Md. on Thursday, March 28, 2024. As the director of the DAF-MIT AIA, Floyd ensures the team of permanent party researchers, MIT partners and temporary phantom interns have everything they need to successfully accelerate fundamental AI research. The DAF-MIT AIA stood up in 2019, the same year the President of the United States signed Executive Order 13859 announcing the American AI Initiative. (U.S. Air Force photo by J.M. EDDINS JR.)
