L.T. Gen. Jim Slife and the AFSOC we need
In the halls of the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) headquarters building there is a memorial capturing the history of OPERATION RICE BOWL, at Hurlburt Field, Florida. During the interview, Lt. Gen. Jim Slife, AFSOC commander, talked about the importance of this first ‘inflection’ point in special forces history and how the failure of this mission highlighted the need for AFSOC.
