A Solemn Mission
Airman 1st Class Brandy Alwine, Dover mortuary affairs, departure operations specialist and lead dignified transfer marshall, steams a U.S. flag to prepare it for a dignified transfer at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware. Airmen responsible for the care of uniforms work on metal polishing, decoration preparation and uniform tact for hours in order to give families of the fallen the best representation of the U.S. military uniform worn by their loved one.
