Integrative Medicine within the Air Force
Maj. Luanne Danes is a biomedical services fellow at the U.S. Air Force Surgeon General's office at Defense Health Headquarters in Falls Church, Va. Her primary mission, during her year-long fellowship, is to advance the concept of Integrative Medicine within the Air Force medical service, which includes training in Battlefield Acupuncture, a quick, simple and easily repeatable method for reducing pain in patients and decreasing the use of pain medications that would require Airmen to miss duty.
