Pilot-Physicians are involved in the research, development, testing, and evaluation of new and current Air Force systems and missions as early as possible to realize the greatest effectiveness and cost savings. Because of unique medical and human factors qualifications pilot-physicians are particularly well-suited to help develop new aircraft, life support equipment, and avionics or software upgrades, and to ensure that changing missions can be accommodated by crews and aircraft.
