MAFFS Activates

Cal Fire coordinators and the 146th Airlift Wing mission commander brief C-130J pilots and crews at Channel Islands Air National Guard Base in Port Hueneme, California, Dec. 10, 2017, for aerial operations to contain the Thomas Fire burning across Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. The aircraft carry the Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System to drop fire suppression chemicals across the path of the wildfire to slow and contain the flames. (U.S. Air Force photo by J.M.
