North Carolina Forest Service members Danny Taylor and Brandon Webb fill a C-130H's Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System (MAFFS) with air and water before it takes off for the next training mission, in Greenville, South Carolina. During the training, flight crews released up to 3,000 tons of water over several closed-off areas in four nearby forestlands. C-130s with MAFFS capabilities have dropped more than 9 million gallons of retardant in support of wildfire suppression missions in the last decade, according to the Forest Service.
