Vandenberg Air Force Base, California has the only remaining mounted horse patrol in the Air Force, which helps them patrol the beaches and other austere environments where vehicles can't go. The patrol team is comprised of seven Airmen from the 30th Security Forces Squadron who are the base's conservation law enforcement patrolmen.
